Back in the good old days in the southern states of America, before we were driven into panic rooms by micro-aggressions, there were white citizens councils that would record in their minutes voting to have someone murdered. Such was their sense of impunity.
Unlike the Ku Klux Klan, the White Citizens’ Councils met openly and were seen as “pursuing the agenda of the Klan with the demeanour of the Rotary Club” by “unleashing a wave of economic reprisals against anyone, Black or white, seen as a threat to the status quo”. In Mississippi, the State Sovereignty Commission funded the Citizens’ Councils.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 broke the control of segregationists over their political and legal institutions. The racial segregation collapsed because it could no longer rely on Jim Crow laws and the private violence and boycotts through the White Citizens Councils which police turned a blind eye too when they were not actively involved.
One of my fascinations about movie and television props is the scene where someone is wearing a wire to meet with the baddies. Inevitably, the battery malfunctions.
There is never any miniaturisation of these wiretapping devices. Indeed, this movie prop lasted well into the era where mobile phones could be turned into a listening device or a alive mike.

“What an idiot that Harvey Weinstein is. He could have gotten away with all of it if he had just gotten himself elected president.”
It is worth remembering:-
Trump was accused by 11 women of sexual assault and harassment in October of 2016; weeks later he was elected president.
According to many papers, including the New York Times, masked gunmen have attacked the offices of “Charlie Hebdo,” a French satirical newspaper, killing 12 and wounding five more. The paper had been previously attacked for publishing cartoons (as did a Danish paper) mocking Muhammad. It doesn’t take much to inspire murder among Muslim thug terrorists: look what the paper was firebombed for three years ago:
The newspaper, Charlie Hebdo, has been attacked in the past for satirizing Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. Its offices were firebombed in 2011 after publishing a cartoon of the prophet on its cover promising “100 lashes if you don’t die laughing!”
The latest attack is likely the work of Muslim terrorists as well: the Torygraph gives a video of the attack and reports
“In the footage filmed by a man taking refuge on a nearby rooftop, the men can be heard shouting ‘Allahu Akbar” (God…

Please no excuses like the recruitment pool is made up of too much of one gender and not enough of the other. The occupational choices and labour supply decisions of workers is never accepted as an excuse at the other end of this chart as valid reasons for departmental gender pay gaps.
The phrase above, as we all know, means “God is the greatest” or “God is greater”, and is used by Muslims to express gratitude when something good has happened. For a few terrorists, that “good” involves mowing down people by trucks, beheadings, tossing gays off buildings, or other massacres of infidels. Thus, when a mass murderer shouts it, it’s a clue that the murder was inspired by Islam. I think we all know that most of the time the phrase is used just as Americans say, “Thank god”: not in a pernicious way. But the phrase is also the touchstone for a killer’s motivations.
Nevertheless, the fact that the truck terrorist in Manhattan shouted that phrase as he exited his car, having killed eight people, has got Muslims upset, for they want to reassure us that the phrase is really a perversion of Islam. These people want their “Allahu akbar…
