If you’ve ever browsed through Occupy Democrats News Feed you’ve probably noticed a few unsound arguments. I picked out 5 of the most common fallacies I found and included a example for each.
Appeal to Emotion
Found in most every Occupy Democrats post. A person will use this fallacy rather than making a logical argument, either because it is easier or because a logical argument doesn’t exist. For example take this post:
Rather than argue why the deal is good and should be supported, Occupy Democrats tries to evoke a emotional response by suggesting anyone opposed to the deal wants children to fight in a war, where as anyone for wants children to go college.
Appeal to Authority
