The Secret Life Of Winston Churchill And Walter Thompson
The secret life of Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965) and his bullet proof bodyguard for 18 years, Walter Henry Thompson (3 December 1890 – 18 January 1978).
Inspector Thompson protected and saved the life of Churchill on many occasions – remaining a faithful bodyguard from 1921 – 1935 and recruited again during WWII. But it didn’t end there, as their friendship continued for the rest of their lives.
Thompson was always seen by Churchill’s side during WWII and became known as his shadow. Thompson adored Churchill, who was highly regarded as possibly the smartest and greatest wartime leaders of the 20th century.
After Thompson retired, he began writing his autobiography, which once published, brought him fame in the UK and the US.
