What’s the difference between rock bands and herpes?
Herpes lasts forever.
Bands are very similar to romantic couples in that the odds of making it for the long haul are rather slim. Well, except for maybe the Rolling Stones. And just like a love breakup, a band breakup can get mighty ugly. Jerry Seinfeld said it best: “Of course relationships end badly…if it wasn’t bad, it would never end!”
When bands start out, it is blissful love everywhere and they spend every waking moment together planning and dreaming for their future. It’s them against the world. Then, riding on common goals, and after striving and climbing to great heights, they reach the pinnacle of all they worked for; wealth, property, debt, fatigue and baggage.
