Weird thing about 2nd Iraq war was Saddam thought they would not invade. Air bombardment only. Made same mistake in 1991.
Also thought weapons inspections would go away after in few months in 1991. When realised they weren’t going away, destroyed chemical weapons stocks so secretly to avoid getting caught that he could not prove he destroyed them after son in law defected. So suspicious just deepened.
