Jim, you are an intelligent man.
Surely you understand that a vast majority of people confuse Zionists(Israeli supporters) of which there are many Arabs and Christians with Jews. Remember, Israel is touted almost everywhere as the Jewish homeland, a Jewish state.
So therefore anything Israel does, is seen as being a Jewish decision.
IMHO the Reporters questions are fair and reasonable. Ie are Israels actions in the Middle East reflecting on Jewish communities worldwide.
Reminds me of the reds under the beds scenario, of some decades ago.
Admitting you were a communist in NZ attracted all sorts of opprobrium related to the actions of the USSR, China or Cuba.
