By Paul Homewood The King has attracted criticism for becoming directly involved in political issues. He has shared a rare message on energy transition, which was read by Energy Secretary Ed Miliband at a summit focused on the future of energy security.
California’s refining capacity is collapsing—not because demand has disappeared, but because it is being deliberately dismantled by regulatory fiat. The recent announcement that Valero Energy will idle or shutter its Benicia refinery by 2026 isn’t just a business decision. It’s the calculated result of a hostile policy environment designed to punish traditional energy producers until they either leave the state or fall into government hands.
“Little doubt that civil disobedience makes the perpetrator feel virtuous. But the anti-CO2, anti-industrialization movement is at war with society, reality, and itself. This fringe is urged to question a false cause with study and reflection … Real environmentalism please!”
As if we didn’t know…’A large increase in energy storage will be critical to ensuring a clean power system by 2030′ – ELN summary. Two problems there: it’s unaffordable and impractical. Using words like ‘must’ and ‘critical’ is just foot-stamping, leading nowhere. Where would all the storage come from in that timescale, or any timescale […]
By Paul Homewood h/t Ian Cunningham Proof that the climate agenda was never really about climate: From the Telegraph: Climate change can be used to teach children about race, a national curriculum review has been told. E, S, G does not cover core financial risks. We’re looking to assess financially-relevant environmental, social and governance factors, not financially-relevant financial factors.” Got that? Yup. It’s total hogwash.

“We do not believe any group of men adequate enough or wise enough to operate without scrutiny or without criticism. We know that the only way to avoid error is to detect it, that the only way to detect it is to be free to inquire. We know that in secrecy error undetected will flourish and subvert”. - J Robert Oppenheimer.
