Trophy Hunting Protects Elephants

It is disappointing to have to state the obvious. Trophy hunting turns elephants into valuable resources for the neighbouring villages rather than pests that tread on their crops and their children.

President Donald Trump had proposed lifting a ban on elephant trophy hunting. Unfortunately, the President withdrew his proposal after an outcry. This Sky News special report broadcast last year, clearly shows that trophy hunting is precisely the solution to preserving animal species.

In this news report, it is pointed out that the Namibian government issues licences as the revenue generated goes to fund anti-poaching initiatives and conservation projects. Despite people paying great amounts to hunt elephants, populations of the animal are increasing in Namibia.
